USAging’s Aging and Disability Business Institute (ADBI) is a foundational program that strengthens partnerships between community-based organizations (CBOs) and the health care system. These connections improve and expand access to quality services and evidence-based programs. As the national focal point for business acumen, ADBI supports Area Agencies on Aging and other CBOs in navigating the evolving care landscape.
The Challenge: Funding Uncertainty
With ADBI’s federal funding coming to an end, USAging needed a clear, sustainable path forward to preserve the program’s critical role and long-term impact.
Our Partnership: Bridging Strategy to Action
USAging engaged Bridge Builder Strategies to assess the landscape and chart a path to sustainability. Our work included:
Identifying a compelling product profile for two sellable programs
Using research to shape the value proposition
Testing product scenarios with pricing models, cost structures, and membership trends
The Solution: Scalable, Sustainable Growth
Based on our findings, we developed two strategic models:
A “Membership+” model to enhance value for existing members
A “Certification” model to generate new revenue and credibility
We also forecasted revenue and expense scenarios to support informed decision-making around each option.
